Appearing at conventions, associations, concerts, fairs, festivals, and special events across the nation, John Bressler astonishes audiences with his mastery of six electronic keyboards, his captivating repertoire of original and classic songs, and his animated, energetic on-stage charisma.
The performer-composer grew up in a musical family in the magnificent rural countryside of eastern Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. "Music has been influential in my life for as long as I can remember," John says. "Our house was always full of melody-standards, bluegrass, gospel, every kind of music you can name.."
John Began piano lessons in grade school and soon was entertaining family and friends with original compositions. He turned his talents to electronic keyboards at age 15, appearing with local rock bands. In High school John also developed a keen interest in drama.
"Although I didn’t know it at the time, my theater work taught me the dynamics of performing-how an audience thinks and responds. A successful performance is like a play. It must be carefully planned, with a beginning, middle, and end. The audience wants to relax. They want to feel they’re in good hands."
By 1976, after majoring in marketing in college, John was already an accomplished musician and composer. To make ends meet, he found a job marketing musical instruments and equipment. "Looking back, that part of my life was another indispensable type of basic training for my career," he recalls. "I specialized in electronic equipment, especially keyboards. It was a comprehensive education."
Working closely with his clients, John had a chance to observe, first hand, how professional musicians work and what their audiences want.. Soon John Bressler felt ready to synthesize all he had learned into his own unique style of musical entertainment..
Before long, he was making quite a name for himself and his music. As his reputation grew, the extraordinary Mr. Bressler and his state-of-the-art electronic "orchestra" began appearing in clubs, concerts, and special events around the nation.
From the start, audiences everywhere were dazzled by John Bressler on stage. But, says John, impressing the people with high-tech equipment is not what his performance is about. "I want the audience to get excited and get involved," he says. "There seems to be so few opportunities for people to have fun anymore!"
And the fun begins with a spectacular stage production that is a feast for the eyes from the beginning to the end. Emerging from a glowing cocoon in a cloud of mist, Bressler and his astounding stack of keyboards atop the world’s only Phantom Grand Piano spin around and around in a dazzling world of moving lights and colors. Then, in a spontaneous surprise, Bressler bolts down a brilliantly lighted ramp and randomly interacts with someone in the audience. Just as suddenly, he’s’ back onstage performing as if nothing happened. It’s great fun and keeps audiences of all ages constantly entertained.. No one ever leaves during a John Bressler show.
John’s unique vocals and keyboard artistry is featured on five critically acclaimed albums. His video John Bressler, Almost Live has been telecast nationally, and his videos have appeared on MTV and VH1.
On stage, John continues to perform with many top stars including Ray Charles, Willie Nelson, Alan Jackson, Gloria Estefan, Alabama, and many others all over North America. He’s appeared on Nashville Now and has been a guest on America’s beloved national treasure, The Grand Ole Opry.
In addition to his busy performing and recording schedule, John finds time to write and score original soundtracks for commercial and industrial films, commissioned by such organizations as Hershey Chocolate, Inc. and CSX Corporation.
He and his crew travel on a beautifully appointed black and silver tour bus, and collectively have over fifty years experience in touring, production, and entertainment. Utilizing the finest equipment, their friendly courtesy and adaptability make them popular wherever they work, and they will do anything they can to make the show the best it can be. Every time, one show at a time. John Bressler wouldn’t have it any other way.
When he can steal a few days between engagements, John Bressler is a man who enjoys going back to his roots. He, his wife Bobbi, and their Golden Retriever, Nittany, live far from the bright lights of show business, on eighteen acres in rural Oley, Pennsylvania.
